My New Shower Curtain Does What?

Thursday, July 12, 2012 Written by

My new shower curtain came with an extraordinary promise.  I haven’t given much thought to what a shower curtain can do for me, but now that I think about it, it really does have a practical purpose: it keeps water from splashing outside of our shower.

I suppose if I were in charge of marketing a shower curtain, I would say something like, “Now you can enjoy a hot shower and a dry floor!”  That would be enough to sell me.  But that’s not what the packaging on my new shower curtain promised.

On Puppies and Celibacy

I am a softie. I admit it. I get emotional and I cry. I know that some in society say that real men don't cry but I am sorry to upset the apple cart and admit that when I am emotionally moved I can cry. Some things affect me more than others.

Now I've Seen Everything!

I’ve seen folks do some pretty silly things, even things that are downright inconsiderate.  To be truthful, I’m guilty of doing silly and inconsiderate things.  Just ask my wife.  But when I rounded the corner in our church parking lot to witness some guy putting oil in his car under the canopy to the entrance of our church, I couldn’t help but utter, “Now I’ve seen everything!”

I set myself up to be roundly criticized. You see, I do not use the self-serve lanes at a gas station. I do not use the self check out at the grocery store. I do not use the ATM at a bank to make deposits or payments. I only use the self-serve kiosk at the airport because some airlines demand that you use them. Some may say that I am counter-cultural, others might say that I am old-fashioned, some might think of me as pain in the rear.
