What matters most in my priesthood? It is not bringing people close to me or political hierarchy. It is not also confinement in the Rectory or office. It is not even reading what’s inside people’s minds. But, it is to convert sinners and to save souls.
I became a priest because of the people and for the people. If parish activities, events, meetings, etc. are administrative in nature and not so much about the mission of proclaiming the message of Jesus, I entrust and delegate them to capable parish volunteers and administrators. Actually, following orders is my expertise as an Associate Pastor of the Cathedral of the Holy Family. I also devote most of my time focusing on the sacramental aspects of my ministry which lay people cannot perform. So, my priesthood revolves around these two important concerns: to reconcile sinners and to proclaim the Good News of salvation.
