How do we make God known to the whole world? It is not by pretending to be somebody else. It is also not by performing a fake mission. It is not even by spending money for church renovations, physical improvements, and decorations. But, it is to testify that Jesus is God through our actions of justice, of sympathy, of hope for the people.
Our world nowadays needs testimony that Jesus is God. Through our actions, let us show to the world that there is justice, there is respect of people and life, and that no one is taken for granted. You are important. Despite falls, imperfections and struggles, God still loves you. You have hopes. In this way, we make Jesus known to others.
That is why when we encounter good people, we feel we see God. When we experience goodness from other people: sympathy, respect, giving hopes, we normally say: “Oh, it’s God’s blessing.” And once you have rediscovered Jesus – be bearers of Him to others.
John the Baptist is telling us, “God must increase, and we must decrease”. Our service/ agenda must always be for the good of the Church and for our love of God. Our ministry is not a position of power or popularity, but of service. We don’t need to be in the hierarchy of Church in order to serve God’s people. They can have all the rights/ authorities in the Church. Our main concern is the people. Jesus loves the people, and not the title, positions, or whatever.
