Synod 2021-2023

The worldwide Church has launched into a two-year Synod on Synodality.

Now, honestly, that sounds like useless buzzwords. But it's not. Let's unpack it.

Back to "Normal" (???)

All Public Health restrictions have been lifted (again). So what does that look like at Holy Family?

C’mon, (Saint) Patrick!

I’m (probably) not Irish, but that doesn’t stop many of us from using his feast as an excuse to celebrate a little.

Turn Around, Bright Eyes

I’ve often been surprised at the number of times God seems to use random songs to speak to me. It often comes out of the blue, and might be songs I have only a passing knowledge of. The song just pops into my head, and along with it comes a weird sense of how God’s using it to speak to me.

A Personal Consecration to St. Joseph

This Lent, as part of the Year of St. Joseph (as proclaimed by Pope Francis), consider embarking on a journey to make a person consecration to St. Joseph, husband of Mary and patron of the Canadian Catholic Church.

Prayer for Reverence for Life

Roman Catholic Diocese of Saskatoon

Almighty God, giver of all that is good,
we thank you for the precious gift of human life:
For life in the womb, coming from your creative power,
For the life of children, making us glad with their freshness and promise,
For the life of young people, hoping for a better world,
For the life of people who are disabled, teaching us that every life has value,
For the life of the elderly, witnessing to the ageless values of patience and wisdom.

Like Blessed Mary,
may we always say “yes” to Your gift.
Help us to realize the sacredness of human life
and to respect and cherish it
from conception to its natural end.

And bring us at last, O Father,
to the fullness of eternal life
in Jesus Christ our Lord.

AMEN.

Behind the Streams

Ah, good ol’ March of 2020. We innocently still thought we would be celebrating Easter together. Ha!

As our lives changed in our attempts to (rather successfully at first) slow the spread of the virus, one shift that quickly took place was offering a live stream of some of our celebrations. Here’s a little behind-the-scenes of that experience.
